Booking & what to expect

From first enquiry to stepping aboard — how the charter process works.

From first enquiry to stepping aboard, the charter process is straightforward when you know the steps.

The enquiry

It begins with what you’re looking for — a destination, dates, the number in your party, and a sense of the experience you want. From this, a shortlist of suitable yachts is drawn up for you to consider.

Choosing the yacht

You review the options — the yacht, the crew, the layout and the rate — and select the one that fits. Availability moves quickly in peak season, so the best yachts are reserved months ahead.

The preference sheet

Once booked, you complete a preference sheet — dietary requirements, favourite dishes and drinks, allergies, the pace you enjoy, special occasions. This is how a crewed charter becomes personal; the crew use it to prepare the yacht around you before you arrive.

What to expect on board

You’ll be met by the crew, shown the yacht, and from there the week is yours. The captain will propose an itinerary shaped by the weather and your wishes, and adjust it as you go. Good crews anticipate; the best make it feel effortless.

Gratuity

A gratuity for the crew is customary at the end of a charter, at your discretion and reflecting the service. Your broker will advise on the usual range.
