4K is a 40-metre sailing yacht built in Germany by Abeking & Rasmussen, launched in 2002 with naval architecture by Bill Tripp and an interior by Winch Design and Nauta Design. She combines proven bluewater capability with the refined presence of a true family world cruiser, her aluminium hull and superstructure keeping displacement honest and maintenance straightforward.

Under sail she is quick and well-mannered; under power, a 570hp MTU delivers a 2,000-nautical-mile range. The expansive teak decks and Tripp’s characteristic low-profile lines give her a presence that reads as understated rather than showy, which at 40 metres takes some discipline to achieve.

The 2025 and 2026 Nauta refit is the reason she warrants serious attention now. The guest interior has been comprehensively rethought, with softened lines, new flooring, and refined finishes, while keeping the yacht’s original character intact. A convertible gym and fourth cabin add flexibility that most yachts at this price point cannot offer.
